Neutrik Rean Stereo Jack Non-Switched
Neutrik REAN NYS230 — 1/4" Stereo (TRS) Jack, Non-Switched
A Three-Pole Open-Frame Panel Jack for Stereo and Balanced Connections
The REAN NYS230 is a commercial open-frame 1/4" (6.35 mm) stereo phone jack with three poles—tip, ring, and sleeve. It's the jack you mount when a build needs a stereo, balanced, or switched-electronics connection: active basses, stereo outputs, and balanced gear. Made by REAN, Neutrik's value line, with a nickel finish and brass contacts for a connection that lasts.
Why Three Poles?
The third contact opens up wiring options a mono jack can't:
- Stereo: left, right, and ground in one jack.
- Balanced mono: hot, cold, and ground for quiet, professional signal runs.
- Active electronics: a common trick uses the ring contact to switch on an onboard preamp when a plug is inserted.
Open-Frame, Non-Switched Design
The open frame makes soldering and inspection easy, with sturdy solder/faston tabs and a washer and nut included for panel mounting. Non-switched keeps the signal path straightforward and dependable.
