The event is FREE, but requires advance registration.
Béla Fleck has virtually reinvented the image and the sound of the banjo through a remarkable performing and recording career that has taken him all over the musical map and on a range of solo projects and collaborations.
Marc Horowitz won his first banjo contest in 1966, and has since continued an extensive recording/touring career. Marc’s former banjo students include Béla Fleck, Hank Sapoznik, Mike Kropp and scores of others. He has conducted three-finger and clawhammer banjo workshops at Banjo Camp North, the Park Slope Jamboree (Brooklyn, NY), The Joe Val Festival (Waltham, MA) and many other venues.
Béla and Marc will give a brief performance in our upstairs recital hall, each showcasing their Gold Tone Signature models. We will try to leave time for a short Q&A, and time to meet and greet Marc and Béla.
Béla and his wife, Abigail Washburn, will perform later that evening at the Corning Museum of Glass, as part of the Corning Civic Music concert series.
Space is extremely limited for this event. To participate, you must stop by Marich Music and register in-person. You may register for one additional person if you have their name and contact information.
