GUITAR SWAP!

Posted by Kate on 23rd February 2009 in Uncategorized

We are so creative here.   Not to brag.  Okay, yes to brag.  Totally bragging.  We are making our own commercial…please look for it and tell us how awesome we are.  Guess what it’s for!

Cabin Fever was a huge success!  The store was swamped!  If you missed it this year, definitely check out the wine event in the fall.  It’s an awesome time.

My mother told me to plug rock music books for band instruments.  We got some new ones in. They’re great.  Consider it plugged.  :-)

The Fever Rises

Posted by Kate on 18th February 2009 in Uncategorized

So, everyone around here has had “the sick.” (No, it’s not a euphemism and I could drop the quotes and the drama if I wanted, but come on, it’s late February– let me amuse myself).  For all of you who’ve had that nasty cold thing, we’re sorry, and drop the nose flute.  Please.

We’re happy and healthy here now, and we’d like to see you out and about on Friday for Cabin Fever.  The stakes are getting higher: live music, wine, and the Bargain Bin!!!

I have yet to see any Buck Owens shirts around here.  Do they exist?

BARGIN BIN!

Posted by Kate on 17th February 2009 in Uncategorized

Okay all,

This is my favorite day to be a Marich Musicite.  The BARGAIN BIN IS HERE!

Here’s the deal with the bargain bin: in it, we put all the stuff we thought would sell a while ago, but didn’t, and we mark it dirt cheap.

Oh yes, I am going home with a Broadway Diva karaoke book and CD.  I also really really want to sing like an American Idol, so I will be purchasing one of these super cool singing kits for 10 bucks!  They used to cost $50!  Now I can annoy my husband for only 10 dollars.  The amount of enjoyment I’ll get out of his annoyance transcends the 10 dollar price tag by about $23049238423.

To be fair, there are also some things that he’ll enjoy too..maybe I’ll come home with something to soften the singing blow–we’ve got bargain guitar strings, a half price PVM mic, and this really cool guitar repair kit.

You better hurry in, because I’ll be heading home with most of the stuff.

Tra la la la la,

Kate

Buck Owens Anyone?

Posted by Kate on 16th February 2009 in Uncategorized

Hi Faithful Readers (all 4 of you),

I’ve been receiving comments!  Yay!

Free set of guitar strings to the first person to come into the store wearing a Buck Owens shirt!

And another free set to the first person who posts a short bio of Buck Owens for the rest of us.

King Ferry Winery will be here for your tasting pleasure this Friday! Music too–if you hate the music, drink the wine.  If you love the music, drink the wine.  Either way, you’ll have fun.

The sentences in this blog are short.  So is my attention span.  Come visit.  Relax.  Shop.  Keep us in business.

Thanks!

The VYPYR is not just a snake.

Posted by Kate on 9th February 2009 in Uncategorized

Hi All,

After a weekend of hand recuperation, I’m back on this Manic Monday (come on it’s a great song) to espouse the virtues of the new (relatively) Peavey VYPYR amps.

They’re virtuous, trust me. Or don’t trust me and come in and try them.  Or come in and ask Brent about them. He’ll give you the low down on the amp AND the snake.  That’s right, only the best and brightest here at Marich Music!  If you ask really nicely he might even do your taxes.*

One just walked out the door this morning. Okay, one was lugged out the door this morning, but the customer was smiling all the way!

Really though, the modeling effects are awesome, and the SANPERA foot pedal might be the coolest pedal I’ve seen–and it’s EXCLUSIVE to the VYPYR series.

Guitar SWAP is coming–look for our posters.

For those of you posting comments. I can see them! I have yet to figure out how to get them on the site, but please keep them coming. I can feel my head getting larger as I type…it’s even seeping into myy finmgwers.

*Totally up to him.

Lost a day

Posted by Kate on 6th February 2009 in Uncategorized

Hey All you Faithful Marich Music Blog Readers (my husband and brother),

So I missed a day. I was so excited about the guitar swap and Schenk Guitars that I couldn’t think in complete sentences. I still can’t seem to finish a

We really want to hear what you’d be interested in seeing or hearing. We have this beautiful space upstairs–right now we have our lesson studios hopping, but we’re thinking of doing some clinics and group classes up there. If you have something you’d like to see, please let us know!

Tip of the day: Always wash your hands before playing your instrument after eating next door at Anniello’s pizza. (Yes, we are next door to the pizza shop; we might start giving away extra cheese with purchases.)

Is this working?

Posted by Kate on 4th February 2009 in Uncategorized

Hi All,

So my brother says the blog isn’t working.

Will someone please send some feedback (preferably positive) to let me know if it works! Otherwise I’ll sit here and talk to myself everyday.  I guess I do that anyway…but it’s more fun to fantasize about my fan base growing exponentially with each music blurb I write.

So anyway, here I am typing away the hours (to the tune of If I Only Had  a Brain) and thinking of all the music news since last night.

(30 seconds later)

Whew.  I have a headache.  Okay–the Palate event that’s coming up should be a really good time.  We’re having live music here Friday the 20th for Cabin Fever and wine tasting from 5-9 in the store.   A little wine, a little music, a little…(shopping??).

Hey-send us your gig dates and we’ll post them for you; if you stop in the store we’ll put them on our bulletin board.

Musically Yours (how cheesy),

Kate

Stuff and Nonsense

Posted by Kate on 3rd February 2009 in Uncategorized

We’ve been having a high old time playing Internet Guru and getting things up and running. We couldn’t think beyond our chicken wings over the weekend, but we’re back in the business of blogging and random cyberspace stuff.

The guitar swap is HAPPENING! Mark you calendars, plug it into your cell phone, i pod, palm pilot (does anyone still have those?), blackberry, or stone tablet. The day is MARCH 14th! We’ll be accepting items for sale March 2nd through the 13th.  More details to come!

Also–if you’re looking for some Valentine ideas (which, let’s be honest, if you’ve got a guy or gal, you should be), we just got in some really cute t-shirts (you can tell your significant other he or she can wear it on the cruise you’re also planning).

Please send us some comments. We’d love to know if this thing works.

Thanks!
